House Plans

**Adding this as a blog post as people using iPads have found it hard to find as a page on the website. Sorry for the double up.

We chose the Forsyth plan before even seeing a display or looking at the price or having a plot of land to put it on.

The flow of the entryway into the living and dining, the size and configuration of the rooms and the overall layout is what drew us to this house type.

And then we found we could configure it further.

However, I soon grew frustrated with having to look at my new house plans all split up between the pink upgrades in the Porter Davis floor plan book and the white sections of the basic hose plan, so I had some fun with scissors and glue and made my own plan.

But that wasn’t the end of our re-configuring…

It has taken us several months, many emails, 2 full day planning sessions and countless hours but between our Sales Manager, our Building Co-Ordinator and our Tender Presenter, we finally have a set of signed off house plan we love.

Spot the Difference

There are many many small changes, well above anything that you would normally expect to get from a volume builder. Porter Davis has gone above and beyond for us.

  1. Was there an added cost for making the changes to the floorplan? Anything they wouldn’t be able to do? We’re hoping to swap the location of the garage with that of the master suite as they are the same dimensions but the slab for both are poured at a different time arent they? It’ll be a dealbreaker if we can’t, unfortunately.

    1. Hi Sonia, in some houses you can flip the front half and keep the back half the same – ie swapping the garage with the front room. Or do a complete mirror image of the house. Have a chat with your sales consultant about the options for the house you are looking at as every house is different. We were only charged when up grading the rooms we added, ie when we extended out the back part of the house and added the 5th bedroom and 4th bathroom & alfressco area and pushed out the roof line, we were charged about $12k, things like that do cost. All the cost break down is on the spreadsheet if you want a coppy just email me via the contacts page 🙂
